“ For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” Matt 12:35b
Phil Pringle held a leaders meeting on May 2011 after the . He reveals that he uses the Presence Conference as a way of business to sell and promote his works (watch below from 0:06-0:26).
Is Pringle Baiting Churches With Presence Conference To Join His Movement?
Pringle also says,
“We really want to become more cross-denominational, not parochial about just being C3… And it’s so important that we just, you know, spill the banks, go over, lower the wall, let the water run through the city and be a blessing. And not out there just to drag people into- you know- and to get people into and- many people will get involved in what we’re doing and that’s good. But I don’t want that to be the only motivation that we have. I think that if we have the motivation to be a blessing beyond us, that would be a really good- a really good idea.” - Phil Pringle, C3 Leaders Meeting With Phil Pringle – May 2011, Youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgTdtB-ha0s, Uploaded by CCCOF on May 5, 2011.
Would it be right to conclude that the only person who would have that motivation would be the one making the comment?
C3 Church has approached churches in the past secretly to see if they would like to join their movement. We have articles to suggest that C3 is rebranding local churches for it’s own cause, to fulfill the dishonest 2020 Vision of Phil Pringle.
Pringle says that the 2020 Vision is God given and that the vision is about PLANTING 1000 churches by the year 2020, with an average membership of 500 each. If churches join and are branded into the movement – is it fair to conclude that the 2020 Vision is a lie? You decide. Check out these articles.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” - 1 John 4:1
Phil Pringle and those in the C3 Movement have sadly, not done so.
C3 Church Watch will be doing an article on Pringle and the C3 Movements connections to occult teachings and practices. Word of Faith teachings and practices stem from the metaphysical cult teachings of New Thought and Christian Science. Over a decade old, these philosophical camps have their influences from eastern religions and the occult.
C3 openly teaches and practices Word of Faith heresy. Todd Friel from Wretched Radio interviewed ex-Word of Faith teacher Mark Haville.
While C3 doesn’t manifest the kundalini spirit that other churches do (in the Latter Rain, New Apostolic Reformation camps), Pringle promotes and in the past, invited the father of this phenomena into his church, Rodney Howard Browne. Pringle’s teachings does stem from Eastern Religions and New Thought influences. The ‘slain in the spirit’ phenomena is also done at C3.
If you feel led to pray for Pringle and the C3 Movement, keep this in mind. If God can deliver Word of Faith preachers from this evil as God did with Mark Haville, God can do this to Phil Pringle as well. If Haville can repent, so too can Pringle.
Phil Pringle speaks with City News on his long-standing friendship with Kong Hee and City Harvest Church.
Contributed By Sharon Chew
You have been ministering to our church for the past 20 years. What is the nature of the relationship you have with City Harvest Church?
From the start, I always felt a great affinity with Kong and Sun. There are some relationships that God joins together, and you’ve got to recognize, respect and nurture those relationships, no matter what. I believe that those relationships that are divinely arranged, you need to stay together, because all of us have a piece of each other’s destiny inside of us, and in that relationship, destiny unfolds. And so I nurture and look after what I recognize is something that God has put together.
I’ve always felt when I come here [that] I have a word from the Lord, whether it’s a teaching, prophetic, or evangelistic word. I feel it has a timeliness about it, and it’s relative to the moment of the history of this church. So last weekend, I was talking about worship and praise, and thanking God for the past, thanking God for the present, thanking God for the future. I think that at moments like the building dedication, that that is a really important thing to do: to worship God for everything that He’s done, for giving us the building, but also to worship Him for what’s going to happen in this building, to thank God for that.
Being prophetic is part of the relationship. I probably might have said five times to Kong—really, from the early days, every time we drive past Suntec City, I would say, “You’re going to be in that building.” Not at any other building. I just sort of felt that. And here we are, moving in, into the fulfillment of a prophecy, which is kind of “Wow!”
Being the one who prophesied about our big move, how do you feel about the prophecy coming to past, albeit at great cost to Kong, and even to yourself?
I think any prophecy has a price to it; any destiny has a price to it. It’s not going to come to pass without help from God, without us being dedicated to making those prophecies come to pass. I get the word of the Lord for different people around the world at different times, and I try not to deliver it in too much of a way that it’s perfect and infallible. I mean, I could get it wrong. But when I feel a word, I definitely say it to people. I don’t think it’s a credit to me—it’s simply a gift that God gives to people. If you can hear it, then it’ll definitely work for you.
I’ve always enjoyed preaching here, to try and give the church direction and build them up. And to edify Kong, to stand with him, just to be part of what he’s doing, and to feel I can help and support, somewhere along the line. That’s been my main thing. I’m committed to City Harvest Church but that’s because I’m also committed to Kong and Sun and what they want to do. So that’s a relationship that God has put together. And it joins our churches together. Kong has been a great blessing to our church in Sydney as well, and to our pastors.

Was there a defining moment in your friendship with Kong and Sun that you knew you wanted to take the relationship deeper?
Probably the first time I met them. They were on their honeymoon, they came to the conference and I was very impressed with that. I thought, “Well, anybody who is that radical and that dedicated, I want to be their friend.” So I gave him a little gift, and he asked me to come and speak here, and I came up, and everybody was so on fire, and I thought this church is going to grow like crazy, so I thought I’m going to become a part of what this is, by making myself available.
The last 10 months have been a trying time for the church. Has this period with us shown you a new aspect of the church, or caused you to see CHC differently?
I’ve seen two things. One is that people are pretty much the same all around the world. On the one hand, it’s really good. On the other hand, it’s quite disappointing. And we can all think, “Wow, we are all better than anybody else.” But when a real trial hits, you find out what people are really like. So some go because they can’t take it and they even develop critical attitudes. That’s unfortunate, but it’s a good thing because the next level, and the next stage can’t have people who disqualify themselves like that. And you don’t want to be building on critical people. So God allows a trial to happen because it sifts out those who haven’t got the right spirit for the future. The shaking happens so that what can be shaken gets shaken out, and what can’t be shaken gets stronger. And so, the people who have refused to be shaken by this trial, which is not small, will only get stronger, and they become the foundation for the next move of God. It’s been awesome to see how many people have been truly faithful and committed, in spite of real challenges and difficulties surrounding the church, and criticism. The members of the church have stood strong. Their rewards will not be small.

What would you say to the people that are trying to stand strong, but they are discouraged because they see people becoming negative?
Everybody has a day when his or her loyalty is tested. We only grow through tests and pressure. And so, when a friend or an associate starts to travel in a direction that we don’t think is right, and we have to make a stand, that can be very challenging, but we grow, we get stronger because of that. And I think people just need to make that kind of stand, they have to make that kind of call. I understand it’s difficult, because relationships that you thought would last have become fragile. I would say to anybody who’s feeling weak, to hang around with the strong, to hang around with the committed, and to really hold fast through the trial.
Has this period of time also given you a new or more meaningful perspective of what God is doing in Singapore and Asia?
Yes, I think that churches are being renovated. I think many of the old styles of doing church is going to fade away, and a whole new generation, and a youthful modern way is going to start emerging. I think City Harvest Church has paved the way for that, for many others. I mean, there are several—our own movement, C3 movement, and other movements—have shown a new contemporary style of doing church, but you would be one of the most prominent Asian churches that has become a model for that to happen. And that’s where revival will spring out—amongst young people, but they need to be in churches that they are feeling comfortable with, and haven’t got a terrible cringe factor about them.
Joe Pringle will be heard singing the above song (aka Sydney’s New Years Eve anthem) ‘We are The Light’ on New Years Eve 2011. For information, read the Sydney Media and Sydney Morning Herald reports here:
Sydney Media said the anthem was made to “raise money for international humanitarian aid organisation“. Ironically, the singer of this song Joe Pringle, is part of the global C3 Movement that financially exploits the poor. The head of the C3 movement, Phil Pringle is Joe Pringle’s father. These articles below are just some of the articles that reveal how Phil Pringle uses Christianity and the Christian bible to financially exploit the poor in his own church:
Night full of wonder, like the stars that jewel the sky A world of beauty, with eyes that shine so bright Let’s walk together, come, put your hand in mine We’ll kiss the future, we’re gonna make some history tonight
We are the light, we are the light We are the light, we are the light
Time to dream, time to touch the sky Now’s the moment to believe, this is the night With power, and glory, shine like shooting stars Come on, we are the future, yes it’s time to dream
We are the light, we are the light We are the light, we are the light
Life is a journey, and we’ve got so far to go The seeds we planted, need our love to prosper and to grow The world keeps spinning, to the heartbeat of time Let’s kiss the future, we’re gonna make some history tonight
Time to dream, time to touch the sky Now’s the moment to believe, this is the night With power, and glory, shine like shooting stars Come on, we are the future, yes it’s time to dream
We are the light, we are the light We are the light, we are the light
Shine bright tonight We are the light, we are the light Shine bright tonight
THE CHRIST-LIGHT AND DARK-SIN
It makes perfect sense that the world would write a song like this. It’s catchy, motivational and appealing to the flesh. To a certain extent, we can see Christian themes through this song. However it is important to understand that Joe Pringle is seen in the C3 Movement and in other churches globally as an influential worship leader and teacher. So what is so concerning about Joe Pringle singing this song as a Christian teacher and worship leader?
Jesus says,
“But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” Jesus, Matthew 6:23
“See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.” Luke 11:35
While Jesus tells people to make sure ‘the light within you is not darkness‘, Joe Pringle is reinforcing in non-believers that non-believers are ‘the light‘. This contradicts the fundamental teachings of Jesus and the Christian message, that all man is in darkness and is in need of a Saviour.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”- Apostle John, John 1:1-5
The darkness being referred to here is sinful mankind. As John says later in John 1,
“There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.”- Apostle John, John 1:9-10
To this day, Christians believe that mankind is in darkness until Christ enlightens and redeems the individual who comes to know Jesus as their True Light. Jesus said,
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” - Jesus, John 3:19-21
Jesus is the only man that is not in darkness and is revealed in scripture as the only one who is the Light of God and the Light of The World.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”- Jesus, John 8:12
“While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”– Jesus, John 9:5
“I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.” – Jesus, John 12:46
LIGHT AND DARKNESS DON’T MIX
It is wrong for Joe Pringle to sing a song like this that opposes a foundational biblical truth to the Christian faith. If he believes what he is singing to be true about the spiritual state of Sydney then he is either ignorant, deceived or hypocritical. Is it not the desire of a worship leader to see people give glory to Jesus? Joe Pringle seems to think likewise (as does Phil Pringle).
If Joe Pringle loves Jesus and considers himself as a disciple of Jesus, why is he not being obedient to God through Jesus, John and Paul’s instructions?
“Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”- John, 1 John 2:15
Has Joe Pringle compromised his love for God by choosing the road of popularity?
“Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said…”- Apostle Paul, 2 Corinthians 6:14
It is clear that Joe Pringle strayed from God’s Word. What’s worse is that his father Phil Pringle did not correct him but instead bragged publicly of his sons error. Both have strayed from Paul’s instructions and were tempted and excited by such a worldly offer:
“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light… Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”– Paul, Ephesians 5:6-17
Joe Pringle is singing a message that would only cloud and confound believers and nonbelievers. He is confusing the message of the gospel that the church is meant to uphold and deliver with clarity. This is not of God.
“… For God is not a God of confusion but of peace…”- 1 Corinthians 14:33
John the Apostle says,
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”- Apostle John, 1 John 4:1-6
The Apostle John rightly exposes the antichrist spirit. The spirit behind the song Joe Pringle sung denies Jesus. If fallen mankind is the light, why bother confessing Jesus Christ at all? Why is Jesus necessary to a world believing that their sin and darkness is light? The world will happily believe the lie that the darkness they are in is light to justify their darkness over the true Light of Christ.
Joe Pringle and Phil Pringle failed to ‘test the spirits behind the song to see whether they are from God‘. It is sad to see these leaders who many believe represent the church, dilute the gospel message for worldly gain. They are partaking in the lie, denying that the world is in sin and claiming sinners are the light.
As head of the C3 movement, Phil Pringle is endorsing a highly ungodly message sung by his son. Pringle has chosen to let this happen in his church. Phil and Joe Pringle are rejecting the message of Christ BEING the light to save sinners and only promoting a message that is against the light of Christ. They have sadly demonstrated in this instance that they are deceiving themselves.
If led, please pray for Joe Pringle and Phil Pringle. May this NYE message not be a preview of what this year holds with the teachings in C3.
